Our Story

A Journey of Challenges and Triumphs

MomoNepal isn't your standard food business. It demonstrates a rich story of resilience, community, and a whole lot of delicious momo.

Founded by Sujit Acharya, a business student at Acadia University from Nepal, MomoNepal started with a single dream: to share the flavors of his homeland with the Annapolis Valley.

Building a Collaborative Vision

MomoNepal was never meant to be a solo venture. It was founded on the practice of a collaborative, team oriented organization, where everyone learns, grows, and shares success together. Initially, Sujit faced doubts, but the encouragement of the Wolfville community rekindled his passion.

From Kitchen Counter to Farmers Market

The journey began with early-morning food prep and deliveries from a small kitchen.

MomoNepal held their first trial at the Wolfville Baptist Church which confirmed that people loved the taste of Nepal. We had our first official sale at the Kentville Mural Festival in [year], and have been continuously growing since.

With unwavering support from the community, MomoNepal secured a spot at the Wolfville Farmers Market, taking a giant leap forward.

A Growing Team, a Growing Business

MomoNepal is more than just food. It's a team of dedicated individuals, including Amone, the skilled head chef who works tirelessly to produce quality momo, chai and chutney. Together, they secured a kitchen at the Acadia Student Union, which allowed for increased production and the addition of new menu items! Now, MomoNepal proudly serves various markets across the region.

MomoNepal regularly participates in community events, connects with regulars at the Farmers Markets, and prioritizes sustainable business practices.

A Vision for the Future:

MomoNepal's ambitions extend beyond delicious food; we envision a self-sustaining, community-oriented organization that values its members, the community, and the environment. We aim to become a role model for other student businesses, inspiring a spirit of innovation and social responsibility within Nova Scotia.
